ITALY We will be spending the Spring Holiday in Beautiful ITALY! There will also be the chance for three excursions that are not to be missed: DAY TRIP TO PISA Pisa is a city in Italy’s Tuscany region best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli. Also in the piazza is the Baptistry, whose renowned acoustics are demonstrated by amateur singers daily, and the Caposanto Monumentale cemetery. DAY TRIP TO ROME Rome, Italy’s capital, is a sprawling, cosmopolitan city with nearly 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture on display. Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which house masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes. DAY TRIP TO NAPLES Naples, a city in southern Italy, sits on the Bay of Naples. Nearby is Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed nearby Roman town Pompeii. Dating to the 2nd millennium B.C., Naples has centuries of important art and architecture. The city’s cathedral, the Duomo di San Gennaro, is filled with frescoes. Other major landmarks include the lavish Royal Palace and Castel Nuovo, a 13 th -century castle. Wake up to a quick pit stop to freshen up and pick up some Breakfast before the last leg of the journey to your holiday destination. We will arrive in Santa Marinella early to mid afternoon where you will check in for your 5 night stay. CROATIA AMAZING Summer Holiday July/August 2019 in the picturesque Country of Croatia. Via a Luxury Touring Coach with Part Leather Reclining Seats, USB Charging Points and FREE WIFI we will travel from the UK via DFDS Seaways to Dunkirk where we will cross the boarder into Belgium, head down to Luxembourg for a change of drivers and the opportunity to get something to eat. There will also be the chance for two excursions in Croatia that are not to be missed, these are: PLITVICE LAKES NATIONAL PARK Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Licka Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. Administratively, the park falls within two counties: Lika-Senj (90.7%) and Karlovac (9.3%). With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park KRKA NATIONAL PARK The national park is a vast and primarily unaltered area of exceptional natural value, including one or more preserved or insignificantly altered ecosystems. The purpose of the park is primarily to serve science, culture, education and recreation, while tourism activities have also been introduced for its visitors. With its seven waterfalls and a total drop in altitude of 242 m, the Krka is a natural and karst phenomenon. The travertine waterfalls of the Krka River are the fundamental phenomenon of this river. We then travel to the port of Dover for our channel crossing to either Calais or Dunkirk, We will the proceed to Sibenik in Croatia passing through some of Europe’s best countryside. We arrive in Sibenik around 9am, take advantage of the hotels location until check in time, the hotel is located next to the beach and aquapark – something for everyone. Optional Trip to KRKA National Park Optional Trip to Plitvice National Park Day at Leisure Day at Leisure Today we checkout of the hotel after breakfast – don’t worry, you have the full day in Sibenik to enjoy, simply place your luggage on the coach and head to the beach / aquapark for the day, we depart Sibenik at 9pm and travel overnight to the port of Dunkirk or Calais.
