In the beginning of civilization the needs of people were very limited. They exchanged<br />
their goods for other people’s goods or services. Such a system, where goods and<br />
services are directly exchanged for each other without the use of money, is called a<br />
barter system. Bartering is only possible if the needs of the people are very few, the<br />
area of exchange is limited and life is relatively simple. The first recorded case of<br />
bartering was in Ancient Egypt.
