The Magazine Babes are Retiring!
Our thanks to Marianne and Ruby
The editor has the easy part of creating this magazine but it’s not without some
real effort on the part of many people that this printed copy reaches you.
Once our printer Ian has produced the 450 or so copies every month, the team of
distributors get it to your door. For the best part of twenty years the distributors
have been organised by Marianne Ewart and Ruby Buchan, our very own Magazine
Babes, who have split up the print run into envelopes for the distributors.
Theirs has been a sterling effort because without them the whole process could be
a bit random and they have brought order to it making sure you get your copy.
However all good things inevitably come to an end and so it is that our Magazine
Babes are hanging up their wings (and distributors’ envelopes) and looking forward
to a well-earned retirement from the task.
The role now passes to Fiona Taylor who will already be known to many as one of
our Bell Ringing Team and we wish her well after a wee bit of tuition from Marianne
and Ruby…we’ll need to get her a set of wings!
So thank you to Marianne and Ruby for their many years of service and now you
can look forward to one of the distributors delivering your copies.
MacFarlane Family thanks
David, Alasdair and Iain would like to thank the Kirk Session and in particular
Calum Macdougall for the funeral service for David and for his very kind words
which are reproduced in this magazine. To Sarah Brown for her bright and uplifting
playing especially the recessional Toccata from Widor’s 5 th Symphony which was
one of David’s favourites.
The retiring collection was shared between RNLI Leverburgh, Isle of Harris and The
Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory in Dad’s memory and raised £930. If you
would still like to make a donation, you can do so here:
