Improv Director, Caitlin Lopez and a talented team of comedy writers
Ophelia's Jump Productions (OJP) was founded by artists and educators who
believe that the purpose of theatre is to create unending conversations, spark
imagination, incite conscience, and elicit a visceral response. We aim to invigorate the
creativity and intellect of our community by working with local emerging artists to do
just that. OJP believes strongly in the communal power of great stories, dramatic
ideas and the sincere engagement that audiences find in these theatrical events.
At OJP, we also believe that theatre can teach young people to empathize with others,
think critically, and problem solve creatively. To us, drama is literature on its feet.
Theatre uniquely combines every other art form (i.e. music, conceptual art,
movement, visual art, dance, sound, etc.). We want to cultivate our community's
cultural landscape by opening access for youth to interactions with theatre as
audience members, participants, and dare we even say it... critics.
