<strong>The</strong> session then continued with Mr.<br />
Q a i s e r I q b a l p re s e n t i n g t h e<br />
importance of SCOPUS database for<br />
researchers, faculty, institutions and<br />
library professionals. He spoke<br />
about how to make use of SCOPUS in<br />
identifying H-Index and other<br />
citation-based metrics, high-quality<br />
journals in a particular ield using<br />
j o u r n a l i m p a c t f a c t o r s a n d<br />
increasing research visibility and<br />
discoverability with tools like<br />
ORCID. He also elucidated the<br />
importance of the database to learn<br />
a b o u t h o l i s t i c a s s e s s m e n t<br />
frameworks and non-citation-based<br />
metrics and also to be able to<br />
u n d e r s t a n d s t r e n g t h s a n d<br />
limitations of quantitative metrics<br />
and to learn visualization tools and<br />
techniques for representing those<br />
metrics.<br />
This session lasted for ive hours and<br />
participants got bene itted from it.<br />

highlighted the issues and presented<br />
her opinions about the database and<br />
its importance for a researcher. She<br />
also shared her experience of the<br />
session.
