tutorial courses and other special events have been scheduled, among them the
presentation of the Materials Innovation Program by the Secretariat of Energy of
A section on Complementary Essential tools in MSE will take place simultaneously
with these activities, which comprises a scientific writing workshop, activities
and Talent Development for the Energy Sector in Mexico. In addition, a graduate
student fair has been organized, where students will have the opportunity to
learn about graduate study programs at participating universities. We will also
have the participation of the 2018 MRS-Spring Meeting poster awardees. A great
complement to this event is the commercial exhibition that will be distributed
throughout the venue.
Nacional Autónoma de México), Coray M. Colina (University of Florida), Hans
invaluable contributions they made to the organization of the scientific content of
this event.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Symposium Organizers for accepting
their important role and for their leadership in the organization of the technical
program of each symposium. I would also like to acknowledge the colleagues
who participated in the local organizing committee, who have dedicated their time
and effort to collaborate in the coordination of diverse activities within the IMRC
2018 program. Thanks also to the SMM staff for their great and intense work in the
preparation of the event during several months that crystallizes today, and to the
many volunteers who have supported our organizers.
Thanks to participating commercial organizations and to our national and
international sponsors. Special thanks to CONACYT for their invaluable support
to make possible the development of several initiatives in this edition of the
professional development of many students. Thanks also to the Secretariat of
Energy of México and to the U. S. ARMY, U. S. NAVY and U. S. Air Force for their
