Registrations are beginning to come in for COAi's
Annual Convention, to be held April 27-May 2 in
Bloomington, MN. And if you're making plans to attend,
December is the month to register, since the $90
registration fee jumps to $100 after January 1.

How many clues do you need to guess the identity of
an inductee to the International Clown Hall of Fame?
+ He is a graduate of the RBB&B Clown College.
+ He created two clown shows for the McDonald's Corp .
+ He was a Goodwill Ambassador for the RBB&B Circus.
+ He was part of the first group of American clowns to
perform at the Clowns International Convention in Bognor
Regis , England.
+ He had his own local TV program.
+ His wife maintains the Department of Clown Registry,
recording makeup designs on goose eggs .
+ His makeup design was inspired by the peace sign.
+ He is the owner of ProNose and ProFace, providing
noses and makeup designed specifically for use by clowns.
+ He is the Director of Advanced Studies in Clowning.
+ He is Leon McBryde.
putting final touches on convention plans. Theme of the
event: "Joust for Laffs." Convention-goers will travel
backwards in time to the 15th century and the Renaissance
borough of Knot-A-Ham in the north of England. Most
convention events will be keyed to this theme; knighthood
will be in flower and chivalry the order of the day.
Participants will be encouraged to wear Renaissance
costumes to such events as the theme party, the
luncheon, banquet and in the hospitality room -- although
that's strictly optional.
A bonus event will be a pre-convention workshop April
27, to be led by Kenny Ahern , a veteran RBB&B
clown/entertainer and educator. The workshop will
concentrate on clown movement, expression , and skills.
A complete offering of seminar speakers and venues is
planned: There will be dealers, competitions , general
membership meeting , hospital and nursing home visits and
much time for socializing.
