Meet Snowbelle!
Snowbelle was
abandoned at a feral
feeding station behind
a school. One of Snowbelles pictures
shows how she appears to be waiting
on top of the feral shelter for her
person to come back and bring her
back to her cozy home and indoor
meals. After a short time at the feral
area, she was rescued and brought
to a vet where she was spayed, vaccinated
and tested for FIV and feline
leukemia. She is negative for those 2
conditions and the vet's assessment
was that she is between 3 and 4 years
old, an indoor kitty and in overall
good health. Note her large double
front paws. She is quite pretty.
Snowbelle is in foster at this time
and is available for adoption and eagerly
awaiting a cozy, FOREVER
home. The foster says she is a lovesweet
and affectionate.
Meet Pretty Pretty
Pretty pretty is
back in Baystate
foster. She has had
quite the adventure
over her young life. The first home
that adopted Pretty decided to have
this lovely, healthy cat euthanized
because of issues with another cat
in the home. The vet would not do
that and got in touch with us for rehoming.
The second adoption was
to a family and Pretty pretty was
given away to a friend after only a
short stay. Most recently she was
relinquished to an open admission
shelter that determined she was a
Baystate cat and that shelter contacted
us. Now Pretty pretty, is in a
Baystate foster home and the foster
mom has not seen a single reason
why this pretty girl has been shuttled
from place to place.
Foster mom says this cat enjoys
her active family household. Pretty
pretty loves to be in the room where
people are-"she loves to sit and hang
with us". Sometimes Pretty just likes
to sit in a room and watch the activity
around her or enjoy a sunny spot.
There have been no negative interactions
with the family pets (cats and
dogs). The foster thinks the best situation
would be an active family with
older children. Please consider this
lovely girl for your family and finally
her FOREVER home.
Meet Finbar!
Finbar is a neutered
male, 4 to 6
years old. He's a bit
shy and prefers to be
an "only" cat. Finbar would do best
in a home with an experienced cat
owner. He is feisty, the kind of cat
who will purr in ecstasy for 3 pats
but then let you know he's all done
with patting. . He uses a litter box
and scratching post faithfully. Kind
of a sedentary guy, he loves sleeping
beside someone and watching cats
on You Tube clips. He hasn't had
any exposure to young children, and
he tends to hide whenever there's any
type of commotion. He is currently
in foster but needs a forever home of
his own!

Volunteer Adoption Counselors
Needed!
This important volunteer base if
so important to move our cats into
new homes…..and, it can be done
from ANYWHERE. Everything
needed is done on the computer
and phone. It requires making
phone calls, following up, and can
be busy one week and no action the
next. We try to work in pairs to help
each other as everyone has varying
schedules. There will be on-sight
opportunities in Boston when that
transpires. Please reach out. We will
train. We need you! Our cats need
you!

Dear Walter,
I’m glad you are able to
enjoy the local trails and fields
and even, mucky waters but I
always suggest limiting your
ingestion if these waters. Outdoor
water sources are loaded
with bacteria and parasites
and can do a number on your
GI tract. Additionally, be sure
your humans keep you up to
date on your vaccines to keep
you safe from diseases you can
get from puddles and shallow
waters frequented by wildlife.
Just an FYI.
As for ticks, make sure
you are current with a veterinarian
grade flea and tick
product. Though all products
work differently, please know
that tick-Bourne diseases, like
Lyme disease, are transmitted
when ticks attached for 36 to
48 hours or more before the
Lyme disease bacterium can
be transmitted. So the presence
of ticks on your pet does
not always mean the diseases
have been transmitted.
