AL 7050 – Strongest aluminum alloy, commonly used in rock-climbing equipment, hang glider frames, military,<br />
automotive and, of course, bicycle industry. Toughest material, but difficult to weld. That’s why it is used mostly for<br />
Handle Bars only.<br />
AL 6061 – Aluminum alloy commonly used in home build or hobby aircraft, yacht constructions or scuba tanks.<br />
Provides very good ratio between strength and affordability.<br />
DOUBLE BUTTED – 2 thicknesses of material are combined to provide best of both – strength and lightweight. Where<br />
the material needs to stand against strong pressure, it is thickened to provide extra strength. On points where the<br />
material is not handling that much pressure, it is thinned to reduce unnecessary weight.<br />
T6 – process of increasing the material hardness by heating the material to a certain temperature for certain period of<br />
time. Times and temperatures may vary based on materials used. This process arranges atoms in molecular structures<br />
which greatly increase the strength of material. Also called “Aging Process”<br />
3D FORGING – Solid block of heated aluminum is compressed into desired mould. Advantage of this technology of<br />
forging is that no welding needs to be used, so the component is lighter and stronger in the end.<br />
