FOR THOSE WHO have never been to Dr. Rotterdam … THE BAR IS hidden behind a door in a quiet residential area. Next to the doorbell is a gold plate with a pharmacy snake. The door opens, you announce yourself as a patient and walk up the stairs with the hostess or bartender. When the curtains open, you are standing in the middle of a bar that looks like it came out of the beginning of the last century. THE BAR, THE antique back bar, the medical trinkets and the bartenders in white doctor’s coats: this is not your average bar, or doctor’s practice.
