Computing Topic 1 Students will study the following: Programming: students will create a specification for a simple computer game and write algorithms to implement their desired features. Topic 2 Students will study the following: Social effects of technology: students will research and investigate how computers and related technologies impact the world in terms of ethics, the law, and the environment. Topic 3 Students will study the following: Programming: Students will complete an online course in JavaScript programming, solving small problems with code and developing their logic skills Topic 4 Students will study the following: Theoretical aspects of Computer Science: students will begin to learn how computer systems function, looking at storage and processing devices, networks, and software. Topic 5 Students will study the following: Organising data: students will complete a project involving organising and processing data to help run an organisation or event. Additional Information Students have opportunities at various points throughout the year to join clubs to build robots, program games, and practice their logical and strategic thinking skills. Mr. J.
