LGED stall gets 2nd best prize at<br />
development fair in Habiganj<br />

The three-day National Development<br />
Fair-<strong>2018</strong> with the theme 'Indomitable<br />
Bangladesh in Advancement of<br />
Development' ended in Habiganj on<br />
Saturday. Local Government<br />
Engineering Department (LGED)<br />
Habiganj participated successfully in<br />
the fair by placing a stall. LGED<br />
Habiganj received the second prize at<br />
the attractive stall category in the fair.<br />

Kabir Murad handed over the award to<br />

According to the district<br />
administration office, the development<br />
fair started from 4th October and<br />
ended on October 6. The fair was open<br />
to the visitors from <strong>10</strong>am to 9pm every<br />
day. 95 stalls participated in the fair.<br />
Meanwhile, there were 75 government<br />
and 18 non government stalls. Various<br />
services including medical services<br />
were provided directly in 28 stalls.<br />

Inu alleges BNP plotting to foil next polls<br />

Hasanul Haq Inu said that BNP has<br />
been negotiating for the release of<br />
Khaleda Zia in the name of election.<br />
Sheikh Hasina's government will not sit<br />
in an arbitration meeting for the release<br />
of any criminal. The government will<br />
not respond to any negotiation on the<br />
pre-release of any offender.<br />
He said this as a chief guest at a public<br />

said that BNP is plotting to foil the<br />

Banik has been selected as the best UNO of<br />
Moulvibazar district. He was nominated as<br />
the best UNO at Moulvibazar Deputy<br />
Commissioner's Office for his special<br />
contribution in all sectors including standard<br />
primary education sector in national primary<br />
education medal selection competition at<br />
district level.<br />
Juri Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asim Chandra<br />
Banik and Upazila Primary Education Office<br />
have made extensive progress in primary<br />
education system in Juri. It is known that,<br />
after joining the office, Asim Chandra Banik<br />
has taken various programs including<br />
ensuring <strong>10</strong>0 percent attendance in all<br />
educational institutions of the upazila, regular<br />
guardian assembly, 'Ma Shomabesh',<br />
teachers rally, seminar on education, starting<br />
'Mid Day Meal' at 83 government primary<br />
schools in 6 unions of Juri upazila, setting up<br />
Shotota store, construction of Shaheed<br />
Minar, beautifying the pre-primary<br />
classrooms, constructing flower gardens,<br />
playground decoration and building camps<br />
for students and guardians. He also initiated<br />

32 held in Dinajpur<br />
special drives<br />
DINAJPUR: Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 32<br />
persons including six drug traders from different areas of the<br />
district in 12-hour ending at 8am last morning, reports BSS.<br />
Law enforcers also seized 200 bottles of Phensidyl, 200<br />
liters of locally-made liquor and 299 pieces of Yaba tablets<br />
during the drives. Police said they were picked up from<br />
different areas of the district on different charges.<br />
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight<br />
persons including three drug traders along with 299 pieces of<br />
Yaba tablets and 200 liters of locally-made liquor, Birganj<br />
Thana police arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police<br />
arrested two persons, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested one<br />
person, Biral Thana police arrested three persons, Parbatipur<br />
Thana police arrested two persons, Chirirbandar Thana<br />
police arrested four persons, Phulbari Thana police arrested<br />
three persons, Nawabganj Thana police arrested two persons<br />
and Hakimpur Thana police arrested two persons.<br />
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are<br />

Shah. A gang of culprits<br />
stabbed and strangled him<br />
to death in his own home of<br />
Kushtia. Nur Mohammad<br />
Shah, 55, from Kurigram,<br />
was killed in his rented<br />
apartment near Babor Ali<br />
Gate, around 11pm on<br />
Monday.<br />
According to family<br />
sources, Shah Nur<br />
Mohammad was working as<br />
sub-registrar for one and a<br />
half years in Kushtia Sadar.<br />
He has two sons and a wife.<br />
They are living in Shyamoli<br />
area of Dhaka. Nur<br />
Mohammad used to live<br />
alone on the third floor of a<br />
flat owned by Abu Hanif in<br />
Kushtia Babar Ali Gate. His<br />
family doesn't have any<br />
knowledge about him<br />

Shah Kamaluzzaman,<br />
brother of Shah Nur<br />
Mohammad, filed a murder<br />
case with the Kushtia Sadar<br />
police station against three<br />
unidentified persons on<br />
Tuesday. He said that the<br />
son of the owner of the<br />
house, Al Mahmud Shohag,<br />
saw three people from<br />
coming out of the flat. Being<br />
suspicious Shohag went to<br />
the flat and saw Nur<br />
Mohammed covered with<br />
blood with hand-tied.<br />
Meanwhile, the news of<br />
death of Nur Mohammed<br />
has shocked the people of<br />
Rajarhat upaizila. Families<br />
and locals of the deceased<br />
demanded the arrest and<br />
strict punishment of those<br />
involved in this vicious<br />
murder. Nur Mohammed<br />
was buried in his family<br />
graveyard on Tuesday.
