The Making of a
Photo Shoot
I
n August, Meridian staged a two-day photo shoot
at our Teterboro headquarters. Photographer
Jim Smith of Stone Ridge, New York, and his crew
worked with our company to capture a wide variety
of photographs of the facility. Some areas of focus
included the FBO executive terminal, the maintenance
hangar, the new Hangar 12, the ramp and
various aircraft in our charter fleet. Smith’s team
also took professional headshots of Meridian team
members to use for company materials and other
needs, as well as documenting the many activities
that occur daily at TEB.
“We were basically shooting ‘A Day in the
Life of Meridian’,” said Jim Smith. “We followed
everyone from the maintenance team to the line
crew to the management staff. We also shot a variety
of photos focused around customer activities, both
on and off the charter fleet.”
The last time we staged a major photo
shoot with Jim’s company at TEB was in 2012.
“There have been many changes and enhancements
at Meridian Teterboro since then,” said Meridian’s
Director of Marketing, Kirk Stephen. “Most recently, our
newly opened Hangar 12. It’s great to have a fresh
stock of images that we can use in our marketing
materials and advertising campaigns.”
The shoot started before dawn on August 7
and ended at sunset on August 8, resulting in some
great “twilight signature shots” that will develop
into some really impactful and memorable images.
“I’ve worked with Meridian for well over
a decade,” added Jim. “It’s always a true pleasure
working with them and showcasing the company. As
a photographer, it’s very gratifying to work with an
organization like Meridian to create a high-quality
visual library.”

and wooded areas. The city is one of the sunniest
locales in Germany, featuring mild summer evenings.
The city has a Mediterranean flavor and both
locals and tourists enjoy the restaurants situated
on the lively squares around the city center and
numerous open air events.
Notable among many famous people from
the area, are Karl Benz and George Bayer. Bayer,
who immigrated to the United States, is honored as
the founder of Hermann, Missouri and the Missouri Rhineland. Benz, a wellknown
engine designer and automobile engineer, patented the Benz Motorcar
in 1886. It is considered the first practical automobile. He was the founder of
Benz & Co., Daimler-Benz and Mercedes-Benz (now part of Daimler AG).
A visit to Karlsruhe offers something for everyone. From the
breathtaking views of the Black Forest landscapes that surround the city to
the numerous museums, theatres, concert halls, restaurants and shopping,
Karlsruhe is a vibrant destination well worth experiencing.
