Features of the BenchTop Pro
• Condensers of 3, 8 and 9 liters in a bench top
footprint
• Refrigeration packages for maximum low
temperature of -55°, -75°, -85° or -105°C
• One touch start-up and shut-down
• Pressure control to avoid back-streaming or for
faster freeze drying
• A variety of manifolds to accommodate most
processing configurations
• Rugged and reliable Pirani vacuum sensor
• Hot gas defrost in approximately 10 minutes or
less
• Optional vacuum pump isolation valve
Selection Guide
There are two main criteria for selecting the benchtop freeze dryer that is right for
you. The first is determining what condenser capacity you need in between defrost
cycles. The second is to determine what solvents you may be using in your process.
When utilizing water as the only solvent the highest condenser temperature offered is
appropriate. In cases where organic or inorganic solvents are being utilized as part
of the solvent matrix the lowest temperature condenser is always preferred.
Load Capacity
Solvents 3 Liter 8 Liter 9 Liter
Water ES (-55°C) XL (-75°C) ES (-55°C)
Water and inorganic solvents XL (-75°C) ZL (-105°C) EL (-85°C)
Water & organic solvents XL (-75°C) ZL (-105°C) EL (-85°C)
Manifold Material Choice
Acrylic or stainless steel. Multiple user labs may
have better experience with stainless steel.
Maximize use of acrylic and minimize use of
stainless steel.
Maximize use of stainless steel and minimize
use of acrylic if possible.
Vacuum Pump
Considerations
Standard oil sealed, rotary vane direct
drive pump. When working in low
pressure conditions consider a dry scroll
pump if oil backstreaming is a concern.
Standard pump with corrosion resistant
oil or combination standard pump with
diaphragm pump.
solvents
solvents. Maximize use of stainless steel if
