Tuesday On Tuesday, the entire day was devoted to the Historical and Artistic Path in Catania, on Goethe’s and the Grand Tour’s footsteps, to discover the beauty of ancient palaces, the baroque style of the buildings and the magnificent Cathedral. The group had a nice surprise once in Catania, since the famous sport event “Giro d’Italia”, a scenic biking tour across Italy hit the road right from there were the students were… and it was a real emotion!
Wednesday Both Archeological and Literary was the theme of the Path in program for the third day, Wednesday, when the group of the project visited the superb Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, and the birthplace of one of the most preeminent Italian writers, Luigi Pirandello. The Valley of the Temples is considered one of the most famous and stenographic archaeological site in the island and in 1997 it became a UNESCO site. The valley includes twelve different Doric temples, three sanctuaries, a necropoly, ancient buildings and a Roman neighbourhood which is divided into two parts: the north Agora (Zeus temple) and the south Agora (the Olympeion and the Bouleuterion).
