THE BLACK BOX will present
a variety of concerts and
events throughout the month
of November. The month kicks
off with “No Static,” the Steely
Dan tribute band on November
2 at 8 p.m. Playing the music of
Steely Dan, No Static is made up
of 10 musicians from around the
Boston area. The band features
Fil Ramil (Lead Vocals/Guitar),
Lydia Harrell (Vocals), Rosemary
St. George (Vocals), Jamie Sheldon
(Bass), Barry Lit (Drums),
Brian Eggleston (Keys), Mitch
Rodriguez (Guitar/Vocal), Robert
Holfelder (Trombone/Horn
Arrangements), Brad Kohl (Sax)
and Walter Platt (Trumpet/Horn
Arrangements).
On Saturday, November 3,
TBB presents the third installment
in its decades series with
“The 80s- A Musical Tribute”
with two seatings, at 7 p.m. and
8:45. Celebrate the many musical
genres, the hits of pop and
rock stars, and pop culture of the
Eighties featuring many talented
local singers.
THE BLACK BOX Cabaret
presents “Rising Stars Cabaret”
on Friday, November 9 at 7:30
p.m. A special cabaret revue
spotlighting the talents of promising
young singers, this fourth
annual Rising Stars Cabaret is
presented in an intimate, nightclub
atmosphere with professional
accompaniment.
The Kenny Hadley Big Band
returns to TBB for another
Big Band Brunch on Sunday,
November 11 at 12 pm. The
critically acclaimed 16-piece ensemble,
led by drummer Kenny
Hadley, boasts masterful musicians
with performance ties to
Big Band legends Woody Herman,
Count Basie, Stan Kenton,
Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich
and more. The Kenny Hadley
Big Band has shared the stage
with such notables as the Count
Basie Orchestra and the Duke
Ellington Orchestra and has
hosted guest soloists including
Clark Terry and Louie Bellson.
Brunch begins at 11:30 a.m.,
with music beginning at noon.
On November 16, at 8 p.m.,
TBB Broadway Series presents
Sara Jean Ford’s solo show “Generations.”
Sara has appeared on
Broadway as Christine in The
Phantom of the Opera, Cats, A Little
Night Music, and more. Sponsored
by Childs Engineering.
THE BLACK BOX Classical
Series presents Quartett Giocosa
in collaboration with the pianist
Irina Kotlyar on November
18 at 4 pm. Violinists Heather
Goodchild and Irina Fainkichen
are joined by Irina Naryshkova
on Viola and Elizabeth Schultze
on Cello, and Irina Kotlyar
on Piano to perform Quintet By
Robert Schumann Op.44 in E
flat Major and Quintet by Antonin
Dvorak Op.81 in A Major.
Tea will be served.
The Peacheaters- an Allman
Brothers Band Experience and
The Daybreakers are back for
a Thanksgiving Eve Bash on
November 21st at 6 pm! Part of
THE BLACK BOX Local Artists
Series.
Enjoy performances by
FPAC, FSPA, and EY alumni
on November 23 at 7:30 pm in a
program of “Flashback Friday”
– reprising favorites from the archives
of the Franklin Performing
Arts Company, the Franklin
School for the Performing Arts,
and Electric Youth!
Joe Bargar and the Soul Providers
close out November at
TBB on the 30th at 8 pm. They
treat audiences to a rousing set
of authentic Rhythm and Blues
that can’t be beat. It’s an all-star
rhythm and blues lineup that
includes gifted sidemen who’ve
backed everyone from James
Cotton to Dr. John.
