Tunnelling Training Academy (TTA)
Established in 2011 to equip our local workforce
with the highly specialized skills of tunnelling
construction and handling of TBMs.
First in the world tunnelling training academy set
up by a contractor.
500 locals trained and 300 hired in SBK;
900 locals trained and 700 hired in SSP.

2 weeks batched training
with TBM manufacturer,
Herrenknecht AG.
Held in overseas
manufacturing plants
where engineers acquire
hands on technical

TBM Refurbishment Initiative
An initiative to localize efforts to refurbish TBMs from SBK for deployment in SSP.
Conducted in collaboration with Herrenknecht AG and reputable steel works
and system formwork designer, Waiko Engineering Works.
8 units of TBMs successfully refurbished.
Enables transference of technological know-how between local SMEs.
Commemorating TBM 778 successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

Courses include trainings for erector operator, Assistant TBM operator,
tunnel electrician, tunnel mechanics, & tunnel crews.

Construction Safety Management – Flashover Training
The first in Malaysia, the flashover training simulates fire events in a tunnel to train
our manpower in the event of fire disasters. We have also provided the same
training to BOMBA.

Community Building
STEM School Outreach Programme
To promote interest in STEM industries.
Targeted in urban outskirts school where STEM awareness and resources
can be low.
Aims to dispel commonly held STEM-related myths.
Survey findings have shown huge shifts in perception amongst students
after the programme, those initially disinterested in STEM are now more
open and drawn to the subject.
