her home, of course, where she
seeks to build strong relationships
within her family.
“Strong, healthy family
relationships are about
setting the expectation for
respect, encouragement and
responsibility,” she says. “Each
family member should have
responsibilities within the team
and be willing to help each other
out.”
She notes that all three children
have chores each week and will
often work together to get them done, whether it’s feeding the horses or
setting the table.
“We encourage each other in our hobbies, sports and schoolwork
— we attend all meets and competitions and cheer each other on,” she
says. “And most importantly, we respect each other’s strengths and
weaknesses, use only positive language, and emphasize not getting into
typical sibling name-calling and banter.”
Yes, those guidelines fit the bill for the DeMaida family as they grow
together in Granby.
