In collaboration with Arkansas<br />
Tech University, the third annual<br />
Paint the Town Green & Gold<br />
was held in September. Local<br />
businesses were encouraged to<br />
decorate the interior and/or<br />
exterior <strong>of</strong> their business. While<br />
many businesses participated,<br />
twenty-seven entered the<br />
decorating competition for the<br />
coveted traveling trophy.<br />
A festival was held downtown<br />
that included local bands, a peprally,<br />
awards, children games<br />
led by Arkansas Tech athletes,<br />
food trucks, pictures in the alley<br />
by a local photographer and the<br />
university’s ambassador Jerry the<br />
Bulldog.<br />
The week culminated with the<br />
traditional party in the plaza and<br />
football game on Arkansas Tech’s<br />
campus.<br />
The 4th annual Paint the Town<br />
Green & Gold event has been set<br />
for September 9-14, 2019.<br />
<strong>Russellville</strong> School<br />
District<br />
The Arkansas Scholars<br />
Recognition Banquet was held at<br />
<strong>Russellville</strong> High School, and 80<br />
seniors, who had to meet certain<br />
requirements, were honored<br />
with a special dinner and award.<br />

Career Services <strong>of</strong> Arkansas Tech<br />
University was the guest speaker.<br />
