ROSE BREEDING
Breeding of garden roses is much like creating a
work of art – it requires time, patience and
knowledge, but the final result is an unrepeatable
masterpiece. In Pheno Geno Roses d.o.o., we rely on
science to help us create new varieties with
extraordinary new qualities that go beyond just the
aesthetic value. This is the reason we have decided
to invest in marker-assisted breeding. The first
results of this investment can be found in our
Winterjewel ® Collection developed by using MAS, a
feature that makes these roses unique.
Another project that we are also very proud of
focuses on introducing rose petals and hips as novel
source of food. Equally interesting is our research
of fragrance and essential oils in rose flowers. Other
projects we are currently working on include, among
others, disease resistance project and stress tolerant
roses for urban consumers.
