Wicked Windy & Winding Ways
This quilt symbolizes the interconnected paths of the characters from the musical. The fused center
depicts the yellow brick road that connects Munchkinland to Emerald City. Two spirals wind their way
out from the center: one quilted with bubbles that carry the ever bubbly Galinda, and the second
spiral stitched in a green maze of triangles and crosshatching, reminiscent of Elphaba and her broom
and witch hat. The large ticker tape tornado and mini twisters quilted along the border signify the
windy transport of Dorothy and other characters to the great land of Oz.
