RESPONSIBILITY
Fairness not only plays a big role on the football field, but is also very
important when interacting with our business partners and handling
resources.
Together with our suppliers, we work in longterm partnerships and
constantly improve work conditions and environmental standards
within the supply chain.
PRODUCT SAFETY
All JAKO products are tested intensively during the devoplement and production process. Independent
test labratories conduct textile-physical exams and practical tests like washing
and shrinking behavior, abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and colour fastness. In this
process, it is ensured that all legal requirements are met, e.g. the Regulations for Personal
Protective Equipment for shin guards and goalkeeper gloves.
PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE TEXTILES
JAKO is a member of the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles. The merger of companies in
the textile and clothing industry, associations as well as politcial organizations persues the
goal of improving social, ecological and economical conditions in the textile production worldwide.
Each company is obligated to generate an annual progress report and set specific
objectives in a road map. The current JAKO road map is published under www.jakosport.com.
CHEMICALS
We take protection of customers and environment very serious. All JAKO products have to
meet the standards and regulations of the German Fashion Modint Restricted Substances
List. Hazardous and prohibited substances are not allowed. Only materials that are tested,
certified and meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 2 can be used.
AMFORI BSCI
JAKO is a member of the amfori BSCI. Our suppliers commit themselves to implement the
BSCI code of conduct at their factories, which contains various regulations for occupational
and work safety. External audit companies regularly review and evaluate the compliance of
the code in the production plants. In case of complaints, the supplier is obligated to create
and implement a concrete action plan.
SUPPLIERS
JAKO does not own any production plants, but places orders with independent suppliers.
Therefore, it is very important for us to know where, who and how our products are manufactured.
For this reason, we carefully select our supplies and visit them regularly. We
concentrate on a few exclusive suppliers and work together in long-term partnerships. This
increases our transparency and also ensures consistent high quality as well as fast delivery
to our customers.
