A SUN SIGN?

From here on Earth, the Sun travels around the Earth once
a year. Whiten that one year the Sun moves through the
twelve signs spending approximately a month in each sign.
The sign that the Sun was traveling through at the exact
time of your birth is your Sun sign.
The Sun is the probably the most important element in your
natal chart but there are many other ways to determine
how others might see you. The Sun helps you reveal parts
of your individuality, your unique style and your passion to
fulfill your goals in life.
“An analogy is that your horoscope is a painting of you. The
characteristics of your Sun sign are the main strokes that
the artist first lays down on the canvas.” The artists paints
your general look, the angles of your figure and face, your
posture. Your Sun does the same, it shapes your overall
character. If you are introverted or extroverted, if you are
responsible or irresponsible, are you restless or easy going
and so on.
Don’t forget that the Sun is only the basic strokes of your
whole portrait. You have many more planets in your chart.
They each represent a different aspect of your life and show
much more of who you are, what your interest might be
and what aspects of your life are more developed.
To start with, all of those twelve zodiac signs are
divided into several sets of groups. They are divided into
twos, threes, fours, and sixes.

DUALITIES
Two sides of one coin
The twelve signs are divided into two groups, masculine and
feminine. Six–masculine & six-feminine. In astrology a
masculine sign is direct & energetic; a feminine sign is
flexible & charming. In modern terminology, the masculine
signs (yang) are defined as strong through action. The
feminine signs (yin) are strong through inner reserves.
Feminine signs are earth & water signs - Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn,
Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
Masculine signs are fire & air signs - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius,
Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.
TRIPLICITIES
Not only air bends
The twelve signs are also divided into four groups containing
three signs each. Each three-sign group is called a triplicity
and each of these triplicities denotes an element.
The four elements are Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. In astrology
an element symbolizes a fundamental characterization of
those signs.
Three signs are fire signs. They are Aries, Leo and
Sagittarius. Fire signs are active and enthusiastic.
Three signs are earth signs. They are Taurus, Virgo and
Capricorn. Earth signs are practical and stable.
Three signs are air signs. They are Gemini, Libra and
Aquarius. Air signs are intellectual and outgoing.
Three signs are water signs. They are Cancer, Scorpio
and Pisces. Water signs are emotional and intuitive.

QUADRUPLICITIES
Different people, different ideals
Next, the twelve signs are divided into three groups
containing four signs each. Each four-sign group is called a
quadruplicity and each symbolizes a quality. The three
qualities are Cardinal, Fixed, and Mutable. In astrology, the
quality signifies the signs interaction with the outside world.
Four signs are cardinal signs.
They are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Cardinal signs
are creative and outgoing. They are the initiators.
Four signs are fixed signs.
They are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Fixed signs are
resistant to change. They are finishers, rather than
originators.
Four signs are mutable signs.
They are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. Mutable
signs are flexible, versatile and adaptable. They are able to
adjust to differing situations.

POLARITIES
Opposites are attracted
Finally, the twelve signs are divided into six groups
containing two signs each. Each two-sign group is
called a polarity or in other words opposite. Each
zodiac has a polarity, which is its opposite sign in the
other half of the zodiac. The two signs express
opposite characteristics.
Aries and Libra are a polarity. Aries is the sign of
self. The opposite sign, Libra, is the sign of
partnership
Taurus and Scorpio are a polarity. Taurus is the sign
of personal possessions. The opposite sign, Scorpio, is
the sign of legacies and shared possessions.

Gemini and Sagittarius are a polarity. Gemini
is the sign of self-expression. The opposite sign,
Sagittarius, is the sign of philosophy and higher
thinking, of expression on a wider level.
Cancer and Capricorn are a polarity. Cancer is
the sign of home life. The opposite sign,
Capricorn, is the sign of public life.
Leo and Aquarius are a polarity. Leo is the sign
of personal pleasure and creativity. The opposite
sign, Aquarius, is the sign of hopes and ideals on
a large scale.
Virgo and Pisces are a polarity. Virgo is the sign
of work and self-improvement. The opposite sign,
Pisces, is the sign of dreams and self-delusion.

ARIES
Ruling planet - Mars

Weaknesses - impatient, moody, impulsive, aggressive
The Sun in Aries usually gives them outstanding organizational skills. It is
rare to meet an Aries who is not able to multi task. Depending on what
they are going through, they show when they get impatient, hostile and
vent anger pointing it to other people. Strong personalities which are
born under the sign of Aries have a task to fight for their goals,
embracing cohesiveness and teamwork through this incarnation. They
are rarely afraid of taking risks.
TAURUS
Ruling planet - Venus
Strengths - reliable, patient, practical, loyal, responsible
Weaknesses - stubborn, possessive, inflexible
Taurus is the sign that harvests the fruits of labor. They need to always
be surrounded by love and beauty, they usually find beauty in the
material gifts. People born under the sign of Taurus are physical,
considering touch and taste the most important senses. Immovable and
conservative they are one of the most reliable signs, ready to stick with
their choices until they reach satisfaction. Taurus finds it easy to work on

GEMINI

Gemini symbolizes two different personalities in one and you often
would not be able to tell which one you are facing. They are friendly,
communicative and always ready to have fun, although with a

Highly intuitive and sentimental, Cancer can be one of the hardest signs
to get to know. They are really emotional and can be very fragile. Cancer
is a loving and often attached to the people they like. Those born under
this sign are very loyal and able to empathize with others pain and
suffering. Water signs are guided by emotion and they usually listen
to their heart. Ruled by the Moon they often have emotional outbursts
beyond their control.
LEO

Strengths - creative, passionate, giving, warm-hearted, joyful
Weaknesses - egoistic, stubborn, self-centered, inflexible
Leo are born leaders. Often dramatic but creative, self-confident and
dominant they are hard to ignore. Usually Leos are able to achieve

Virgos are loving and caring but often their heart might be closed for the
world. The name of their sign talks for itself, born as if to see and
experience the world for the first time. Their element is the element of
earth. This makes people with strong character that are usually
conservative and perfectly organized with a lot of practicality in their

Libras are peaceful, fair and kind. They are afraid of being alone. Love
and partnership is one of the most important things for them. Libras
are in constant search for justice, balance, equality and symmetry. Later
in life they usually realize that they need to focus more on themselves
instead of seeking justice and equality. They will do everything to avoid
conflict and keep the peace. Libras have a strong intellect due to the
element of the sign being air. Venus is the planet that rules Libras,
making them great lovers but also in need of expensive, material things.
SCORPIO

Strengths - brave, creative, true friend
Weaknesses - jealous, reserved, vicious
Scorpios are energetic and self assured, they can easily focus on the
thing the want to achieve, they will also search for the absolute truth no
matter what. Scorpios are also good leaders, always knowing the
situation and keeping in mind the resources they have. As a water sign

will never spread a secret you told them. They are known for they calm

You can call Sagittarius the traveler of the zodiac. They are open minded
people with philosophical views for what the world is. Extroverted,
optimistic and ready to experience life at it’s full. Seeking change at all
times, they need to concentrate a bit more on their thoughts in order to
achieve the things they are looking for. Like the other fire signs
Sagittarius needs to be in constant touch with the world around them,
hungry for communication. People born under this sign are usually
impatient and clumsy in their process of getting to their goal.

Ruling planet - Saturn
Strengths - dedicated, self-discipline, mature
Weaknesses - pessimistic, unforgiving
visually are very serious by nature. They are the most independent of all
zodiac signs that give them a boost in their professional live. Capricorns
can keep their emotions under control like no other sign, this helps them
when making a decision, giving them a pretty realistic view over the
situation. Even if they make a mistake they learn from it. Capricorn as an
earth sign makes them grounded. But they tend to focus on the material
things in life and lose sight of the other important aspects of life.
AQUARIUS

Strengths - independent, humanitarian, adaptable
Weaknesses - moody, unforgiving
Aquarius people are often introverts even though with certain people
they can be open and energetic. Natural deep thinkers, intellectual
people who like to help. They can see both sides of everything making
them natural problem solvers. Even though they can adapt to every
situation they need alone time to recharge. As an air sign Aquarius uses
his mind. If there is no mental stimulation Aquarius will get frustrated
and quit. They know what they want to do with their life. Biggest
problem of Aquarius people is the feeling of limitation.
PISCES
Ruling planet - Neptune
Strengths - artistic, intuitive, mystical
Weaknesses - unrealistic, overly trusting, self pity
Pisces are friendly and communicative. They often meet very different
people. Usually selfless, they are willing to help even a person that they
do not know. Pisces as a water sign are emotional. Because they are
unusually intuitive they can trust in their gut feeling without hesitation.
Generous, faithful and ready to help, they know that all they do in this
life is just a lesson needed to learned. Pisces hold great wisdom but
sometimes they can get hungry for attention and if they do not get it,
they start pitying their own selves.

YOUR BIRTH CHART?

Since now you know the basics of astrology and your Sun
sign we can move on to your birth chart often called
natal chart as well. Once you have your birth chart ready you
can learn all about yourself, the people in your life and you
upcoming year. In this article we are going to explain just the
basics of a natal chart like what your ascendant and moon
speak about you, what each of the 12 th houses means and
what sector of your life each house affects.
To create your natal chart the first and easies thing is your
birthday. Just fill in the date, month and year you were born.
For the second thing run to ask your mom the exact time she
gave the gift of life to you, this is the most important part
since every minute plays an important role in astrology. If you
do not know the exact time you were born just write down
12am and 00mins. This will do the trick for the most part but
it would not give you the most accurate results.
My favorite website for creating drawing birth charts is
Astrotheme. Once you enter the website on the left you can
find tons of categories that will probably overwhelm you. All
you need to do is search for the category “Astrology and
personality” and then click “Horoscope and ascendant”.

The placement of your Moon in your natal chart is the second
most important placement in your whole chart. The Sun sign
represents what others see us like and how we act around
people in general. The Moon is the completely opposite it
represents the way we act when no one is around, our inner
emotions, who we are when we are by our selves. Moon is
associated with emotions and the unconscious mind. The Sun
represents what you think but the Moon is your instinct, the
first thing you will do, the side of you that reacts before you
have the time to think. The Moon is also the “primitive” and
“uncivilized” side of your personality. The part of you that
you most probably deny.
Often your Moon personality is expressed in daydreams or in
dreams during sleep. During sleep it tells more about how
you would react in different situations if you would only have
that one instinct side of you. The Moon is also really
important part in love relationships. A indicator of a strong
