CompleteBody
Founded by a former fitness trainer in the
Russian military, CompleteBody is the
culmination of Alex Reznik’s journey to a more
balanced view of health and wellness. A holistic
emphasis on strength, cardio, flexibility, nutrition,
meditation, rest and insistence on personal
training allows clients to customize their fitness
experience.
“Everyone needs to find the program that
works for them and their individual goals,
schedule, lifestyle and fitness level,” Reznik said.
Each studio is different, so even the
location a client chooses is tailored to the specific
neighborhood it calls home.
“In Manhattan, people don’t travel more
than 5-10 minutes to their gym. That’s why
offering services and activities specifically for
the demographic in the area is very important,”
Reznik explained. – completebody.com
Dogpound
The Dogpound, once a small group of fitness
trainers who met every morning to train, has
turned into one of the hottest gyms in NYC.
Founder Kirk Myers believes in the philosophy
that healthy living is a real lifestyle change that
requires time and hard work.
“It takes a combination of desire, positive
attitude, drive, and a strong support network to
make change, one step at a time,” Myers said.
It isn’t hard for the Dogpound’s clients to
hold themselves to same standard when fueled by
the studio’s boundless supply of positive energy.
If you dare, Dogpound’s signature “Machine
Gun” workout, which draws elements from yoga,
boxing, core strength, resistance training, ballet
and cardiovascular endurance, is one intense way
to begin your journey.
“Incorporating different styles of training
into my clients’ and my own fitness regime
helps to stimulate the body and mind, prevents
boredom and gets results,” Myers said. –
Type A Training
Personal trainer Nathaniel Oliver established Type
A Training as a response to the growing desire of
New York’s time-constrained corporate elite to
lead heathy lifestyles.
“I knew that creating an in-home personal
training service would be the perfect solution in
helping out my niche clientele,” Oliver explained.
Clients can sweat through a full-body
workout in as little as 30 minutes while in the
privacy of their own homes or hotel rooms
with one of Oliver’s staff of personal trainers,
medical exercise specialists and yoga instructors.
In addition to improved physical health, Oliver’s
workouts strive to provide clients with an outlet
to release some stress.
“Three-to-four times a week, clients can put
all their stress and thinking about work, kids, life
in general to the side, and give their brains a slight
vacation,” Oliver said. – typeatraining.com
Barry’s Bootcamp
For nearly 20 years, Barry’s Bootcamp has
garnered a cult-like following for its high-energy
workouts. Alternating between intense rounds of
cardio and weight training, participants can easily
burn 1000 calories in a single hour.
“Where the workout itself can be challenging
for the individual, the collective energy creates
an accountability and support to help find and
push new limits,” Vicky Land, Barry’s Director of
Communications and Brand Strategy, said.
A daily featured muscle group also allows
for variety, specialization, and avoiding injury.
Think your legs could use some work? That’s on
Tuesday. Want to strengthen your core? That’s on
Thursday.
“Create ‘stages’ for your progress. One
weight, one sprint, one class at a time! When you
reach short term goals, they add up to one big
change!” Land said. – barrysbootcamp.com
