2019 UK Grazing Calendar

In Memoriam
The inaugural edition of the
Kentucky Grazing
Calendar is dedicated to the
memory of Russell Hackley,
an innovative forage producer
and cattleman from
Grayson County, Kentucky.
Russell was quick to tell you
that he was a ‘Grass Farmer’
and was an early adopter
of improved forages like
endophyte-free tall fescues,
certified red clover varieties
and rotational stocking.
Russell was a respected and
articulate spokesperson for
forages at the county, state
and national level. The
editors dedicate this Grazing
Calendar to the memory
of Russell Hackley.
Russell Hackley used high quality
forages and rotational stocking to
produce beef on grass. Russell was
a self-professed “Grass Farmer.”
