Pastor Tun Abducted Laura Murray On January 19th, Pastor Tun was reported to have been kidnapped, at gunpoint, by an underground army. Pastor Tun is a field partner to Gospel for Asia and was serving in a Rohingya conflict area. He has been serving for 20 years, servicing 12 fellowships of believers. The police, government armies, his family, and believers in the church have been searching for him. It is still unclear why he was kidnapped, although the abductors did say the leader of the underground army wanted to ask him questions. Myanmar (Burma) has been rated as the 18th worst place for a Christian to live by OpenDoors (rising 6 places in a year). The persecution level is very high. The main religion is Buddhism. There are any conflicts going on within Myanmar. There are conflicts between the government and ethnic minorities. There are conflicts between Buddhists, Muslims, and Christians. There are also struggles between various factions for control of the government. Christians live precariously in this country as they are seen as the enemy by many. Especially with the exodus of the Muslim minority (also due to persecution), Christians are facing an increase in violence against them.
