A steep ascent to the heights of the
Hotzenwald forest, high pastures, and
a descent to Hohwehra ravine - where
a lively brook has spent thousands
of years working its way into a deep
romantic ravine.
Description
In the St. Blasien spa park, past the
former abbey’s Baroque facade, this
Section starts passing through the
St. Blasien — Todtmoos

in the south. Soft forest trails
lead from the tower over to the
first pastures on Dachsberg. From
here, the trail heads down into
the Hotzenwald’s open landscape.
Wide mountain meadows abound
with heather, herbs, and many
panorama views reaching to the
Swiss Alps. Individual farms are
found along the path via Rüttewies
and Horbach to the idyllic
Kosterweiher pond.
A brief ascent brings the hike up
to a high plateau at Kreuzfelsen
(protective hut and view) and
over to Ibach, dreamily located in
the sweeping landscape. Following
