Tourism in Alvor in the Algarve Coast

Alvor has an excellent sandy beach which is a short walk from the center of the
city. The long sandy beach extends for 3.5km, from the sand dunes of the Rivo de
Alvor Natural Park, which includes the Ribera del Odiáxere, to the west, to the
limestone cliffs of the Prainha to the east. The beach has an immaculate
atmosphere, since there is very little tourist development directly on the beach
front, apart from the occasional bar or beach restaurant.
Airports and transfer to the hotel
The main international airport is Faro airport, which is located 70km east of Alvor.
Faro airport has direct flights that cover all of Europe, and all the main "low cost"
airlines fly to Faro.
For the later transfer from the airport to the hotel, it is recommended to book a
transfer to the hotel in advance, since the trip by public transport is complicated
