Active in the field of pharmaceutical research,
LDC transforms promising earlystage
projects into leads with initial proofof-concept
in animals.
Focusing on small molecules, the LDC
conducts drug discovery projects originating
primarily from academic groups and
sustains a preferred partnership with the
LIFE&BRAIN is a development-stage
biomedical enterprise serving as commercial
hub of the University of Bonn
Medical Center. As a centre of innovation,
LIFE&BRAIN features a unique structure
in Germany’s translational research landscape.
Spread across four R&D platforms
LIFE&BRAIN employees and academic
staff of the University of Bonn work to-
Matricel GmbH develops and produces
innovative medical class III collagen implants
and biomatrices for applications in
medicine and biotechnology.
Matricel´s proprietary technologies are
the keys to successfully produce biocompatible
and biodegradable matrices in a
wide range of modifications suitable for
the cultivation with human cells in tissue
engineering and regenerative medicine.
in close collaboration with the project owner.
The LDC team consist of industry-trained
experts with solid experience in project
management and drug discovery.
LDC offers core expertise in Automation &
Screening, Cellular Biology, Pharmacology
and Medicinal Chemistry. Founded in 2008,
the recently announced research alliance
with Merck KGaA and its first licensing
deal with Bayer Pharma AG demonstrate
that LDC efficiently acts as a translational
link between excellent basic research and
industry.
gether under one roof to develop novel
strategies for the diagnosis and therapy
of nervous system disorders.
LIFE&BRAIN`s R&D platforms combine
expertise in genetics, transgenics, neurocognition
and stem cell technology.
Products and services include genome
and gene expression analysis, transgenic
mouse and human stem cell-based models
of neurological disease and applications in
neuroeconomics.
The products serve different medical fields
like ACI-Maix for tissue engineering of
articular cartilage and Remaix as a dental
membrane for guided bone regeneration.
Matricel´s product Optimaix is dedicated
for research in 3D cell culture. In autumn
2011 our new membrane Cartimaix for
orthopedic applications will be launched.
Matricel has a promising product pipeline in
further medical fields like dermal and nerve
regeneration with customized scaffolds.
