GREETINGS FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA!<br />
I'm pleased to welcome you to this year's <strong>SALT</strong> <strong>Center</strong> <strong>Journal</strong>. We have several noteworthy<br />
updates to share with you, as well as some exciting plans for the future.<br />
As many of you know, one of our major projects for the year was the renovation and<br />
expansion of our home, the Patricia A. Bartlett Building. I am happy to announce that<br />
construction is complete! Our students and team have already begun to congregate and<br />
enjoy the furniture in the new Student Lounge and explore our state-of-the-art educational<br />
technology. This edition of the <strong>Journal</strong> shares our plan for how students, tutors, and<br />
colleagues are going to use these enhancements to stay connected with the <strong>SALT</strong> <strong>Center</strong>.<br />
I am also delighted to share that we will welcome a Faculty Fellow, Lisa Elfring, to the <strong>SALT</strong><br />
<strong>Center</strong> this year, which will allow students to interact with a friendly member of our UA<br />
community who is committed to their success.<br />
Lastly, our newly-formed <strong>SALT</strong> <strong>Center</strong> Alumni Board has grown significantly over the past<br />
few months. Many of these board members participated in our first annual Alumni Panel<br />
by sharing personal stories about their life and careers since graduation. They are a true<br />
testament to the good work the <strong>SALT</strong> <strong>Center</strong> team has done for more than three decades.<br />
Our students, families, friends, and alumni are more eager to connect with us than<br />
ever before. I hope that you take a moment to read their stories and be inspired to stay<br />
connected with us during the coming academic year and well into the future.<br />
