Urfe<br />
Portuguese rigs are deadly, the concept of<br />
fishing with three hooks below the weight<br />
is an alien concept in shore fishing and one<br />
most people will think ends up in tangles!<br />
Our URFE has been designed to construct<br />
these easy to tie, often underrated rigs. The<br />
in built rig clip is hidden by a piece of tubing,<br />
slotting the lead in here and then moving<br />
the tubing over to secure, fixes the lead in<br />
place. To the opposite swivel the mainline<br />
is attached and to the middle swivel the rig<br />
is connected. The URFE allows for fishing<br />
longer rigs with longer snoods, giving the rig<br />
more movement, particularly effective when<br />
the fishing is slow.<br />
Shrink Tube<br />
A versatile product that can be used for all<br />
kinds of jobs within rig making. Shrink tube<br />
will “shrink” in place as heat is applied.<br />
This makes it ideal for protecting knots so<br />
that they become more streamlined and<br />
less prone to catching weed. The stiffness<br />
of the material when shrunk makes it ideal<br />
for creating small, standoff booms to give<br />
extra separation of hook snoods from the<br />
rig body. It’s also used for making pennel<br />
rigs, securing the top hook of the pennel to<br />
the rig body. Care should be taken to not<br />
damage the line when heating, shrinking in<br />
hot water will help minimise this as opposed<br />
to using steam or a lighter, for example.<br />
Knot Protector<br />
If using shrink tube to protect knots is<br />
a step to far, then the <strong>Tronixpro</strong> Knot<br />
Protector is the next best thing. Designed<br />
from clear silicone tubing, the knot<br />
protector will slide over the knot to the lead<br />
link, to the top rig swivel and the knot to the<br />
link on the shockleader. The supple silicone<br />
will keep the protector in place and is ideal<br />
for streamlining rigs to stop weed and<br />
lighter, longer hook snoods getting tangled<br />
in the knot.<br />
