Examples & Inspiration
Tate Sensorium is
an immerse display
featuring four painting
where one has
the ability to hear,
smell and taste
through interdict
devices. By stimulating
the senses
this display encourages
a new way to
approach and view
artwork. Similarly to
Tate Sensorium, my
project uses sight,
sound and smell to
bring new meaning
to images.
The installation
Landscape\Soundscape
includes
sound responses to
ten landscape photographs.
The goal
was to highlight or
show some sort of
sonic interpretation
of the imagery. Similarly
to Landscape\
Soundscape, Without
the Flight explores
how using multiple
senses can create
and discover new
meanings behind
everyday objects or
phenomenons.
Sniffing Time is
a chemical based
watch that releases a
mist of six different
smells to link up with
an individual’s internal
clock. For example,
coffee in the
morning. Without the
Flight relates to Sniffing
Time because
when the sounds,
smells, and visuals
are combined the
viewer is able to disconnect
themselves
from reality and put
their mind into the
state or environment
that I created.
