The history of PSG goes back to pre-
Independence India, having been
established in 1926, on January 25th. Its
roots are hoary while its aspirations and
accomplishments are timeless.
The Trust was dedicated to transforming
the society through education and health
care. Having established many educational
institutions, their focus on health care
became evident as early as 1950s when
they established a Center for Maternal and
Child Health. Later, in 1985 this was
followed by founding of PSG Institute of
Medical Sciences and Research, and in
1989 the PSG Hospitals. PSG Hospitals
has been consistently a top-ranked hospital
in the city and state. The Hospital started
with Broad Specialties and has grown
over the years establishing superspeciality
departments. This is a Trust
Hospital and is governed by the Trust
rather than the share-holders. The
operational philosophy of PSG Hospitals is
embodied in PSG Panchsheel (five values)
of Ethics, Science, Quality, Holistic care,
and Affordability. The PSG IMSR and PSG
Hospitals are spread over 100 acres. The
green campus in the city is a contribution
of the PSG family members who have laid

All doctors in the Hospitals are updated
in their knowledge and skills, due to their
academic involvement. PSG Hospitals is
NABH accredited for about ten years now.
Some of our recent achievements include
double lung transplant, over 150 successful
Cochlear implantation, more than 75
navigation system guided neuro-surgical
procedures, many liver transplants and
over 300 kidney transplants. Further Foetal
Medicine, Developmental Pediatrics,
Infertility Services, Comprehensive
Epilepsy Evaluation and Management
Services, Bariatric Surgery, Sleep Apnea
Surgery, Advanced Cardiothoracic
Surgeries, and Joint Replacements are
done routinely. Our postoperative care is
impeccable and infection rates are low.
We have a Hospital Infection Control
Committee to monitor this important aspect.
Lastly, we also have medical tourism
department that makes all these services
available and accessible to patients from
overseas. The department is manned by
experienced staff who have thorough
knowledge of VISA procedures and other
international rules that govern travel of
patients across countries. Their job is
primarily to help ensure a seamless
experience from leaving the country for
our hospital and their return to their home.
During their stay in the hospital, these staff
will constantly be on the patient's side
during the hospital stay to make sure that
everything goes very well for him.
