Lacrosse

There is evidence
that a version of
lacrosse originated
in what is now as
Canada as early as
the 17 century.
Lacrosse was first
played by eastern
woodlands Native
Americans.
Lacrosse is the first
homeground sport
in America. The first
sticks were made
from hickory wood.
The first stick was
made in 1630. The
games could be 7
days long. 1,000 to
2,000 men on a
field. 1637 they
named it lacrosse.
1859 Canada
declared that
lacrosse was there
national sport. 1960
plastic was the
head of the stick.
