Meine Arbeiten beginnen im Jahr 2004.
Zuvor war meine Beschäftigung mit dem fotografierten
Bild eher passiv. Als Produzent für Werbebilder und
Filme war die Fotografie zwar allgegenwärtig - nur war
es anderen vorbehalten, ihre Ideen in Bilder
umzusetzen.
2007 habe ich die Tätigkeit als Produzent bewusst
beendet. Seither verstehe ich die Kamera als das
Werkzeug meiner Wahl.
Meine Bilder sind eine Mischung aus Dokumentation
und Erzählung. Immer subjektiv und gefärbt von meiner
Vorstellung wie Raum, Natur oder Ereignis sein sollten.
Eindrücke von Momenten meiner Reisen und selbst
gewählter Projekte stelle ich auf das Wesentliche
fokussiert dar. Die Inszenierung in meinen Arbeiten liegt
in der Nichtinszenierung. Die Wirren des Alltäglichen
entflechte ich und bereinige sie durch die Wahl eines
Ausschnittes, ohne jedoch dem Gesehenen etwas
hinzuzufügen oder zu entfernen. Dabei ist mir die
Emotion immer wichtiger als die bedingungslose,
technische Perfektion in der Wiedergabe des
Gesehenen.
My work starts back in 2004.
Before then, my involvement with photography was
more of passive nature. During my work as a
producer for print and commercial advertising,
photography was omnipresent all the time.
However, it was the privilege of others to transform
their ideas into images.
2007 I consciously withdrew from my work as a
producer. Since, I consequently understand the
camera as the tool of my choice.
My images are a mix documentation and narration.
Always influenced by my expectation to how a
space, nature or event should to be. Impressions of
my journeys and my projects are transformed into
structured images. The choreography in my imagery
is the absence of choreography. I untangle the daily
chaos by choosing the frame without artificially
removing or adding to the seen. I always prefer the
emotionality over technical perfection in the
reproduction of my impressions.
