Dear South Holland Residents and Friends,
We find ourselves in that glorious time of year—
the onset of the long-awaited summer season, a
time of promise and anticipation. Summer brings
out the best in our already beautiful Village.
The trees are fuller, the flowers brighter, the
lawns greener. In addition, South Holland brims
with activity, as many of our special events take
place during these vibrant summer months.
In this issue of South Holland Living, you will
learn about those events, along with some of
the people and places we admire. In particular,
we highlight a South Holland family who has
made impressive improvements to their home
on Parkside Avenue, a married couple who own
and operate one of the Village’s most popular
restaurants, and a former South Holland kid
who turned his troubled past around and now
travels the country teaching youth about STEM
education.
These stories are a snapshot into the pillars
of South Holland: our families are strong, our
business corridor is solid and growing in demand,
our schools and churches are investing in the
lives of residents, and our service organizations
are selflessly giving back to those in need. This is
truly what ‘South Holland living’ looks like, and I
couldn’t be more proud.
Be safe, have fun, and may God bless you and
your family as you enjoy this great summer of
2019!
