Concerts on the Common<br />
Concerts on the Common is<br />
marking its 26th season at the<br />
Walter J. Dempsey Memorial<br />
Bandstand on the town common.<br />
Every Sunday evening, 6-8<br />
p.m., residents bring folding chairs<br />
and blankets and listen to period<br />
music, from marches, to swing, to<br />
jazz.<br />

<strong>Norwood</strong>’s 50-bell Memorial<br />
Carillon is a local gem and dates<br />
back to its dedication on Armistice<br />
Day, Nov. 11, 1928. It was given as<br />
a gift to the late Walter F. Tilton, a<br />
local banker and civic leader.<br />
Residents can often hear the<br />
soothing sounds of their carillon<br />
driving or walking through <strong>Norwood</strong><br />
Center, however, the best<br />
listening spots to truly enjoy and<br />
absorb its rich sounds are on the<br />
Town Common or in the upper<br />
parking lot behind town Hall on<br />
Central St. Tours are often available<br />
after each concerts.<br />
