Can you identify
the location?
Below are two postcards taken during the
First World War, probably in the Doncaster
area. However, their location is unknown.
Can you help us identify the location and
give us any more information about what
is happening in the pictures?
The original postcards have no message, address
or stamp on the back but they were both published
by The Regina Company Press Photographers, based
in Doncaster. Regina photographed various events
and activities in the South Yorkshire area and their
images were published as postcards and in
contemporary newspapers.
Military personnel
with carriages outside
what looks to be a
railway station with
the photograph
possibly being taken
from a bridge over
the road. A rural
scene, possibly in
one of the villages
around Doncaster?
Soldiers outside
Simpson (& Sons?)
Motors and Cycles.
Possibly located
on the Great North
Road, maybe in
Bawtry or the
Doncaster Race
Course areas?
