TINY HOUSE ROADSHOW<br />

Part of this year’s Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts includes<br />

Tiny House Roadshow featuring many homes that will make<br />

their first-ever appearance at the J. In partnership with Try<br />

it Tiny, “Home is Where the Harvest Is” will run noon - 6 p.m.,<br />

Friday, Oct. 25, and 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday,<br />

Oct 26- 27. Tickets are $15 ($12.50 Early Bird when you buy<br />

before Oct. 11). Free for children 12 and younger.<br />

There will be a VIP Party for those who want exclusive, up-close<br />

access to the homes. Guest speaker is Melissa Rappaport<br />

Schifman, author of Building a Sustainable Home: Practical<br />

Green Design Choices for Your Health, Wealth and Soul.<br />

$75 per person; $125 per couple; $225 for four<br />

TIDY UP HOME & LIFE 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27<br />

Featuring Kristyn Ivey, a Platinum Certified KonMari Consultant<br />

and Home Stylist. $10 per person, includes admission to the<br />

Tiny House Roadshow<br />

The highlight of the three-week festival of authors, films,<br />

performing and visual arts is Dennis Ross, an American diplomat<br />

and author. Ross has served under Presidents George H. W.<br />

Bush, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama and is a world-renowned<br />

expert on the Middle-East. The event is at 7 p.m. Thursday,<br />

Nov. 9. Tickets are $15 per person. Festival pass is available.<br />

Healthy Living Day at the J<br />

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the JCC in partnership with Eskenazi<br />

Health will kick off day-long health screenings with “Have Your<br />

Cake and Eat It, Too,” a talk by Gwendolyn Rogers, owner of The<br />

Cake Bake Shop. Rogers will talk about how living healthy and<br />

indulging in decadence are not mutually exclusive. The heart healthy<br />

breakfast includes a piece of cake (flavor subject to availability).<br />

The breakfast is from 8 - 9:30 a.m. and is $28 per person (get the<br />

ninth ticket free when you purchase eight tickets for $224).<br />

After breakfast, from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., there will be more than 20 FREE health screenings/<br />

exhibits for both men and women, including High Blood Pressure/Hypertension, Glucose/<br />

A1C/Cholesterol, BMI, and more.<br />
