Thinking About Art
By Angelo Acosta
The idea to start an art
gallery during the tough
economic times in 2010
was a challenge met with
confident thinking and
optimistic expectations for
gallery owner Kim Caron. Her
first love for art came about
when she was in college at
Mississippi State where she was
getting her business degree.
Kim took several art classes
there and, after returning home
to Tupelo, Mississippi,
continued to think about art.
Thinking about art led to
thinking about starting an art
gallery. Even though some
people around her thought it
wouldn't last a year, Kim knew
in herself if she could survive
the recession period, she could
continue going forward.
Her vision for the gallery was
to represent Mississippi artists
and give them a national
platform so she developed a
website selling art online
before opening the gallery's
doors four months later.
