The purpose of this booklet is to help understand the
school context that Lyttleton secondary school is in. The
school is influenced by its location infrastructure and the
relationship teachers have. This will help us identify what
an ideal teacher for this type of a school.

Lyttleton manor high school is located in a township called
centurion. This is a place of middle-class socio-economic
background. Learners in this school are English first
speakers, they are exposed to a number of native
languages other English. The language of learning and
