4 Welcome To The <strong>Meadowlands</strong><br />
Bergen County is a wonderful place to live,<br />
work and raise a family. Nearly one million<br />
residents live in one of our 70 unique and<br />
vibrant municipalities. Our county attracts<br />
thousands of visitors and tourists each day to<br />
our businesses, educational facilities, historical<br />
sites and special events. Our retail shopping<br />
facilities are second to none. Places to visit<br />
include the <strong>Meadowlands</strong>, Steuben House<br />
(home to the Bergen County Historical Society),<br />
Overpeck Park, the Bergen County Zoo<br />
in Van Saun Park and the New Jersey Naval<br />
Museum— to name a few.<br />
As the largest county in New Jersey, Bergen County offers a sizable pool<br />
of diverse, well-educated, highly skilled workers for employers in the region.<br />
Our business community is a thriving mix of Fortune 500 companies and<br />
small businesses alike. My administration is proud to partner with the<br />
<strong>Meadowlands</strong> Chamber and other agencies and organizations to grow our<br />
economy and capitalize on opportunities for public-private partnerships.<br />
We will continue to strive every day to make Bergen County the best place<br />
for our residents, businesses and visitors. This visitor’s guide is a valuable<br />
