The Wayang Kids by Brainchild Pictures Pte Ltd<br />
The Wayang Kids is the first and only movie sponsored by the<br />
Fund so far. The movie was launched at Shaw Lido on 6 March<br />
<strong>2018</strong>, and was screened throughout the month of March <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
The Wayang Kids introduces the charm of traditional Chinese<br />
opera and revolves around the themes of accepting and<br />
respecting differences, communication and the importance of<br />
family. Starring local young talents, the movie tells the story of<br />
an unlikely friendship that develops among distinct characters<br />
- a Eurasian girl from China, Bao-Er, her classmate with autism,<br />
Open, and their multicultural group of friends. Together, all of<br />
them have to overcome their differences and work to put on a<br />
Chinese opera performance of The Monkey King.
