Welcome to Play ’n’ Learn
The role of early childhood teachers today is becoming
more important than ever before. Technology is changing
young children’s world rapidly and opportunities for simple
child-led play and physical activity are shrinking in the
lives of many youngsters. As teachers, you fortunately
understand the kind of play that is appropriate at your
children’s various developmental stages, and you know

are formed and nourished when children are interacting
playfully in healthy, real-world relationships. You also

principles and strands of Te Whariki come to life. Because
