Music
Expressing feelings and stories through music and
movement has been one of the ways humans have
communicated since prehistoric times. Making and
listening to music offer a host of developmental
benefits to children, and adults can help by making
instruments accessible and creating opportunities
to play, dance, sing and chant throughout the day.
Children create and respond to music spontaneously,
which makes it an ideal way to encourage them to
participate in your centre activities and routines.
Our extensive music range includes a wide variety
of regular and traditional instruments, designed to
withstand the rigours of childcare use. We also offer
ready sets to choose from, collections of waiata,
songs and rhymes on CD, listening and speaking
resources, as well as handy storage options.
Your centre should be equipped with:
• bookshelves or display case
• display board for instruments
• tape deck and tapes
• song books/charts
