TALE OF AN ECUADORIAN HEART
More than 500 years ago, just right in the middle of the world, used to live an enigmatic warrior
called "Ecuador". She wanted to tell her father sun and her mother moon, where she lived. She
said to them: I am Ecuador, I´m from the mountains, from the snow, I´m friends whith the
condor. I have the strength of Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, and Chimborazo volcanos. I come from the
sea with the warmth of the Pacific coast, I produce bananas, coffee, flowers and shrimp. I carry
in my soul my ancestors: Chorrera, Huancavilca, Machalilla and Manteña.
I have the spirit of the Amazon rainforest, I have the deep look of leopard, the lungs of the world,
Yasuni, pink dolphins and more than three thousand varieties of orchids, exotic birds, microclimates
and Enchanted Islands. We are an ethnic reserve of the universe, but mostly we are men
and women of struggle and battle; whit hopes and dreams, color and joy, whit an amazing
gastronomy composed by fish and salprieta; mote and guinea pig. We have a warm heart to be
opened to the word.
