Late 1970s • Students dance in class in the school’s first<br />
modular building, which was also the Drama Classroom.<br />

A school day at <strong>Sandia</strong> <strong>Prep</strong> has always offered many<br />
avenues for learning. Students can explore by using<br />
hands-on, interdisciplinary activities, student-led inquiry,<br />
small group work, and traditional classroom techniques.<br />

1993 • Our journalism program pioneered computers<br />
in the classroom. Yearbook and newspaper students<br />
used word processing and graphics design programs to<br />
produce student publications.<br />
1992 • Students researched and laid out the curves<br />
of our state’s largest river in the dirt between the 100<br />
Building and science labs. They recreated shores of the<br />
Rio Grande Valley through New Mexico by placing native<br />
plants alongside the “river’s” edge.<br />
