Partnership SupportThe COMMONAwardWhat is it?To support working-class artists or companies intheir early or mid-career to make the most of theincredible opportunity the Fringe provides, wehave joined forces with COMMON for a secondyear to platform an exceptional theatre production(including shows for children and young people)made by a working-class creative or companythrough The COMMON Award.Who is it for?To be eligible for The COMMON Award, theapplying creative or company must:• Be in an early or mid-stage of their career• Identify as being from a working-class background(or similar identities such as benefit or under-class)• Have a commitment to taking a production to theEdinburgh Festival Fringe 2020What do you get?• Up to £2,000 of financial investment towardsthe cost of presenting your show at the Festival,which may be put towards elements includingtravel, accommodation, Fringe registration andsubsistence• Guaranteed inclusion within our Fringeprogramme• A 60/40% or 55/45% box office split in yourfavour depending on VAT status of the company• Additional marketing presence and support withpress coverage during the Edinburgh Festival aspart of the Pleasance Theatre’s Pleasance Futurescampaigns• In-kind support, mentoring and advocacy fromthe Pleasance and COMMON in the lead-up toand during the Festival, including (but not limitedto): mentoring from the Pleasance to demystifythe Fringe experience; development, rehearsaland work space in the lead-up to the EdinburghFestival Fringe at the Pleasance’s London theatre;support to find accommodation; and more!• Access to COMMON’s network of industryrelationships with venues, arts organisations andhigh-profile industry members• The full weight of COMMON behind yourshow to provide significant industry recognitionand attention• Support from COMMON to secure attendancefrom representatives of additional awards whichare run during the Festival• An optional London transfer of your showpost-Fringe at Pleasance London• Support to develop and deliver accessibleperformances as part of your runHow to ApplySubmissions open:Monday 9 DecemberDeadline:10am, Monday 20 JanuaryTo apply, please visit: commontheatre.co.uk/whatisthecommonawardThe Land of My Fathers and Mothers and Some Other People, Rhys Slade-Jones
