10th AnnualLions Family FunFestSaturday, July 14 • 10:00 am to 2:00 pm12th AnnualRace MontanaTriathlonOne of the highlights of summer is Lions FamilyFunFest, a family oriented festival hosted by theGreat Falls Lions Club and Park and Recreation.The 10th Annual FunFest is scheduled forSaturday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in LionsPark located at 10th Avenue South and 27th Street.Planning is underway to bring the community andsurrounding area a day filled with fun, food, warm weather, entertainment,and celebration. The event is FREE to all participants thanks to thegenerosity of all three of the Lions Clubs in Great Falls (Great Falls Lions Club,Sunrise Lions Club and Electric City Lions Club) and numerous local donors.If you have enjoyed the Lions FunFest in the past, you will see new additionsto the games and activities for the kids! Each year the FunFest gets biggerand better! Enjoy great music and the sound of laughter, participate in anarray of games, try the jolly jumpers and enjoy the food (nominal fee) whiletaking a break. There will be prizes for the games and drawings for bikesand sporting equipment to keep kids active all summer. Multi SportsComplexCommunity partners have collaborated with Park andRecreation to raise funds for Multi Sports Complexfacility improvements.In the spring of 2017, improvements were made to Fields1 and 3 which included new dugouts and backstops.These improvements were made possible throughfunding provided in part by Confero Sports Foundationand the Great Falls Public Schools. In addition, Park andRecreation staff worked on the infields on Fields 1-4,6 and 7, to eliminate the outer infield ridge “lip”, thusimproving the playing field. The infields were also slightlyextended, providing a safer, more consistent facility forplayers. A new infield groomer was purchased to helpmaintain the fields. The groomer levels uneven playingfields, helping to prevent ridge buildup.Further improvements continue on the lower fields at theMulti Sports Complex this spring. Through the generousfunding and support of Confero Sports Foundation,Great Falls Public Schools and the Tourism BusinessImprovement District, renovations will continue on Fields2 and 4 with new dugouts and backstops.The Multi Sports Complex serves as a recreational facilityfor youth, high school, college and adult softball programsand is a catalyst for bringing softball tournaments totown, which provides a significant economic impactfor Great Falls.
