It is the business of theasuras to try to kill the Supreme Personality ofGodhead or to prove by all means that there isno God or that Kåñëa is an ordinary human beingand not God. Lord Kåñëa is not affected by suchdetermination of men of Kaàsa's class, but inorder to play the role of a child He agreed to becarried by His father to the cow pastures ofNanda Mahäräja because Vasudeva was afraid ofKaàsa. Nanda Mahäräja was due to receive Himas his child, and Yaçodämayé was also to enjoythe childhood pastimes of the Lord, and thereforeto fulfill everyone's desire, He was carried fromMathurä to Våndävana just after His appearancein the prison house of Kaàsa. He lived there foreleven years and completed all His fascinatingpastimes of childhood, boyhood and adolescencewith His elder brother, Lord Baladeva, His firstexpansion. Vasudeva's thought of protectingKåñëa from the wrath of Kaàsa is part of atranscendental relationship. The Lord enjoysmore when someone takes Him as hissubordinate son who needs the protection of afather than He does when someone accepts Himas the Supreme Lord. He is the father ofeveryone, and He protects everyone, but whenHis devotee takes it for granted that the Lord isto be protected by the devotee's care, it is atranscendental joy for the Lord. Thus whenVasudeva, out of fear of Kaàsa, carried Him toVåndävana, the Lord enjoyed it; otherwise, Hehad no fear from Kaàsa or anyone else.” (SB3.2.26 P)“If anyone wants to enjoy the childhood pastimesof the Lord, then he has to follow in the footstepsof the residents of Vraja like Nanda, Upanandaand other parental inhabitants. A child may insiston having something and cry like anything to getit, disturbing the whole neighbourhood, and thenimmediately after achieving the desired thing, helaughs.
